Renting a Car at San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

The Enterprise car rental branch is located at the Rental Car Center at 780 N. McDonnell Rd. It can be reached by a short 5-7 minute ride on the Airtrain that runs 24/7.

Directions to SFO Rental Car Center

To access the Rental Car Center from the airport terminals, take the AirTrain Blue Line. This fully automated people mover system operates 24 hours every day and provides service throughout San Francisco International Airport. Enterprise is located on the 4th floor of the Rental Car Center.
 

SFO Rental Car Return

Enterprise rental car return is located at 780 N McDonnell Rd, San Francisco, CA, in the SFO Rental Car Center. As you approach the SFO airport, look for signs pointing you toward Rental Car Return and follow those to the Enterprise car rental area. After returning your car, board the AirTrain; it has two lines which make stops at all the terminals.
 

After-Hours Returns

This location offers after-hours drop-offs. You will return your vehicle at the same location where you picked it up. Follow the signs to Rental Car Center and look for the Enterprise rental return lane. After you’ve parked the car, remove your personal belongings and lock the car. Drop your keys in the drop box located in front of the rental car return booth. After returning your car, board the AirTrain; it has two lines which make stops at all the terminals.
 

Driving Through Tolls in a Rental Car

Our optional TollPass service allows customers to easily cross any bridge tolls using the FasTrack lane without having to worry about toll violation fees. The cost of a rental car depends on many factors and can vary greatly. These factors include:

To rent a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the United States and Canada, you will need the following:

  • To be 25 years old 
  • A valid driver's license with a photo
  • A photo ID (For example: a driver’s license or passport)
  • Credit or debit card (check the acceptable forms of payment at the location you’re renting from)

Some locations may require additional information, including but not limited to: 

  • An International Driving Permit (IDP): If the license is written in a language or characters different to those of the country of rental, an IDP is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
  • Return travel and accommodation information: Visitors to the UK must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information while in the UK. 

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

Fuel Policy at Non-Airport locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • A full tank of gas is not guaranteed.

Fuel Policy at Airport Car Rental Locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • You may opt to pre-pay for fuel -- Pre-pay gives you two conveniences:
    • You can avoid the hassle of having to fuel up the vehicle before returning.
    • Pre-pay fuel option is calculated at the local rate of gas minus a per gallon discount.

Note: Prepaid fuel is only sold in full tanks at the discounted price per gallon and is not refundable. Local fuel rates will vary by the area you are renting a vehicle.
