There is a shuttle that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and takes passengers to and from the terminals. 

  • For shuttle pick up: Exit the terminal on Level 1 near Baggage Claim and walk toward the Long-Term Parking Garage adjacent to the terminal.
  • For shuttle drop off: The drop off location is in front of the Consolidated Rental Facility (600 Rental Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062.)

Car Rental Returns and After-Hours Returns

Customers pick up and return their rentals on the first floor of the Consolidated Rental Facility. 

  • If returning a vehicle after hours, there is a drop box for keys located near the front lanes of the Consolidated Rental Facility. 

New Orleans Car Rental Tips

  • Tolls: There are no tolls in the city of New Orleans. There are tolls for those traveling to the North Shore, about 40 minutes north of New Orleans. When traveling southbound on the popular Causeway Bridge, you’ll encounter a $5 USD toll.
  • Street Conditions: There are narrow streets filled with potholes in New Orleans, as well as neutral grounds (also known as medians) and U-Turn specific lanes that can be tricky to navigate.

  • An International Driving Permit (IDP): If the license is written in a language or characters different to those of the country of rental, an IDP is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
  • Return travel and accommodation information: Visitors to the UK must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information while in the UK.

Fuel Policy at Non-Airport locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • A full tank of gas is not guaranteed.

Fuel Policy at Airport Car Rental Locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • You may opt to pre-pay for fuel -- Pre-pay gives you two conveniences:
    • You can avoid the hassle of having to fuel up the vehicle before returning.
    • Pre-pay fuel option is calculated at the local rate of gas minus a per gallon discount.

Note: Prepaid fuel is only sold in full tanks at the discounted price per gallon and is not refundable. Local fuel rates will vary by the area you are renting a vehicle.
